Michael Kevin Sopt, M.D. received his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in 1994. He went on to complete his Family Practice residency at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Sopt is a Board Certified Family Physician and has been in practice since 1997. He has over 21 years of experience in the management of Acute Care, Adult and Geriatric Medicine, and Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Practice. He grew up in Michigan, and is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Sopt treats patients age 11 and upwards. He has a special interest in geriatrics and chronic disease management.
In his spare time, Dr. Sopt enjoys following his Vanderbilt Commodores, cycling, soccer, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Sopt welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
Ratika Gunturi, D.O., earned her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, VA in 2013. She completed her Family Medicine residency at Spartanburg Regional Family Medicine Residency Program in Spartanburg, SC in 2016. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009. Dr. Gunturi is board certified in Family Medicine, and she is also a member of American Academy of Family Physicians, American Board of Family Medicine, American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians, and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. Dr. Gunturi is a native of the Atlanta region, living here since she was in the 4th grade.
In her spare time, Dr. Gunturi enjoys dancing Indian Classical Dance (Kuchipudi), watching movies, reading, arts and crafts and drawing.

Matt Knebel, NP-C, received his graduate degree in nursing practice from Frontier Nursing University and is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Matt has been practicing medicine for 2 years. Prior to joining Piedmont he was a cardiology nurse at Piedmont Athens Regional as well as a fireman and paramedic. Matt specializes in family medicine and is a DOT certified examiner.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys lifting weights and relaxing around the campfire with family and friends.
