Shaoxu Bing, M.D., earned his medical degree at Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine. He then attended the University of Florida College of Medicine in Jacksonville where he completed a residency in general surgery.

Dr. Bing specializes in minimally invasive general surgery to treat hernias, gallbladder disease and a variety of gastrointestinal disorders. His special interests include hernia, foregut and colorectal surgery.

In his spare time, Dr. Bing enjoys cooking, golfing and spending time with his family.

Dr. Mohorn is board certified in General Surgery. Her years as a Trauma and General Surgeon have made her an expert in emergency and elective operations.

Dr. Mohorn treats benign and malignant conditions of the body including skin, soft tissues, breast, hernia, hemorrhoids, abdominal & endocrine organs, gastrointestinal tract and colon. She particularly enjoys the complex care of elderly patients, and advanced single incision laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Mohorn is known to guide her patients and their families in making informed decisions regarding surgical options, treating them like she would wish her family to be treated.

In her free time, Dr. Mohorn is a foodie who enjoys reading, travelling, ballroom dancing and being a life coach. She moved to Georgia with her children in 2020.

Melinda Bottenfield, DO has been practicing medicine for five years. Prior to joining Piedmont, Dr. Bottenfield was a general surgery resident at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. She is board eligible in General Surgery.

Dr. Bottenfield is certified in robotic surgery. Her special interests include treating benign and some malignant conditions of the body to include but are not limited to the skin, soft tissues, gallbladder, hernias/abdominal wall, gastrointestinal tract, hemorrhoids, and breast.
