Michael Steinbook, M.D., has over 37 years of experience. He is board certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine. He completed his medical degree at the University of Louisville and completed his residency at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Hospital Center while he served in the U.S. Army from 1981-1989.
Dr. Steinbook, a retired veteran, is from the Bronx, New York and was in private practice in Columbus for over 20 years prior to joining Piedmont Physicians.
Manisha Jakkidi, M.D., is board certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. She completed her training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Cooper University Hospital in New Jersey, where she received awards for Outstanding Fellow of the Year, Resident of the Year and Intern of the Year in 2019, 2017 and 2016. She is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. She has several peer reviewed publications and received presidential awards at national gastroenterology conferences.

Katherine Garcia, MSN, NP-C is a compassionate and highly detail-oriented Nurse Practitioner with three years of experience in diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of gastroenterology patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting. Katherine received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and her Masters of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Columbus State University in Columbus, GA.
As a board certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Katherine has over 16 years of clinical experience providing post-op medical-surgical care to patients in a rehabilitation unit, treating patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal illnesses in a hospital unit, providing clinical coordination in an endoscopy unit, and obtaining history and physicals from diverse patient populations in a fast-paced gastrointestinal practice. Katherine is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Sonie Clayton, NP, is a board certified nurse practitioner with over 20 years of clinical experience. She has a clinical background in gastroenterology, oncology, orthopedics, emergency medicine and acute care. She has prior academic teaching experience in a BSN program. She serves as a clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students enrolled in a MSN nursing program.
