John Michael Connor Sweetnam, MD, is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Medicine. Dr. Sweetnam treats pulmonary disease, including COPD, asthma, hypertension, lung disease, and pleural disease with a special interest in the management of lung nodules and neoplasms.

Steven E. Harris, M.D., FCCP, earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La. He completed his residency at George Washington University. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Harris was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Dr. Harris has been practicing medicine for 24 years. He is the Director of the Asthma and Allergy program at Piedmont Physicians Georgia Lung and holds board certifications in pulmonary disease and internal medicine. Dr. Harris also specializes in Allergy and Asthma for pulmonary patients. In his spare time, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. Aris Iatridis, M.D., earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va. He completed his residency at the University of Minnesota. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Iatridis was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. He holds board certifications in sleep medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine.
Dr. Iatridis is described as inquisitive and passionate about the practice of medicine. He is considered to be efficient, accurate and focused with regard to patient care. Dr. Iatridis is hard working and is well-liked by his fellow physicians and patients. Dr. Iatridis is an expert on sleep disorders in the transportation industry.

Stuart Simon, M.D., FCCP, earned his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. He completed his residency and internship in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where he was chief medical resident. He completed his fellowship in pulmonology and critical care medicine at Yale University.
Dr. Simon received his undergraduate degrees in biology and sociology from Tulane University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Georgia Lung, Dr. Simon was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Dr. Simon has been practicing medicine for 24 years. He holds board certifications in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine.
Dr. Simon specializes in emphysema, lung cancer, pulmonary rehabilitation and respiratory exercise physiology and rehabilitation. In his spare time, Dr. Simon enjoys biking and exercising. Dr. Simon welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.
Samuel Szumstein, M.D., earned his medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his pulmonary, sleep and critical care medicine fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Szumstein was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Previous to that, he was an assistant professor at the University of Virginia and helped train residents and worked as a staff physician at Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Va. He is board certified in pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Szumstein enjoys spending time with his family, while traveling, hitting the slopes, riding jet skis, watching sports and listening to a wide range of music. Jermaine M. Jackson, M.D., FCCP, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science in biology from Tennessee State University in Nashville. He earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis. He completed his residency in internal medicine and was subsequently chief resident at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Jackson completed his fellowship in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Jackson was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Dr. Jackson holds board certifications in critical care medicine, pulmonary medicine and internal medicine. He is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. Dr. Jackson's philosophy of medicine begins with empathy, compassion and competency. He adheres firmly to the belief that patients should always come first. His charisma and tenacity make him highly regarded by patients and colleagues alike. Sriram I. Paramesh, M.D., earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh. He received his undergraduate degree from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Paramesh was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Dr. Paramesh has been practicing medicine for 14 years. He holds board certifications in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine. Dr. Paramesh specializes in pulmonary rehabilitation and sarcoidosis. In his spare time, Dr. Paramesh enjoys playing tennis, traveling, fine dining and reading. James V. Waldron, PA-C earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science at the University of Georgia. He graduated Cum Laude from the Physician Assistant program at the Medical College of Georgia. James has been practicing with the physicians of Piedmont Physicians Georgia Lung since 2006, focusing on pulmonary care, critical care and sleep medicine. He currently serves as the mid-level provider at the Austell location. James is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Georgia Association of Physician Assistants.
