Samuel Szumstein, M.D., earned his medical degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. He completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his pulmonary, sleep and critical care medicine fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Szumstein was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Previous to that, he was an assistant professor at the University of Virginia and helped train residents and worked as a staff physician at Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Va. He is board certified in pulmonary diseases, critical care medicine and sleep medicine. In his spare time, Dr. Szumstein enjoys spending time with his family, while traveling, hitting the slopes, riding jet skis, watching sports and listening to a wide range of music. Aris Iatridis, M.D., earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Va. He completed his residency at the University of Minnesota. He received his undergraduate degree in biology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Iatridis was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. He holds board certifications in sleep medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine.

Dr. Iatridis is described as inquisitive and passionate about the practice of medicine. He is considered to be efficient, accurate and focused with regard to patient care. Dr. Iatridis is hard working and is well-liked by his fellow physicians and patients. Dr. Iatridis is an expert on sleep disorders in the transportation industry.

Brion J. Lock, M.D., graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich. He earned his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Mich. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Lock was chosen to serve as chief resident for one year after completion of his internal medicine residency in 2002. He stayed at UAB to complete his pulmonary and critical care fellowship and served as chief fellow during his final year of training. Dr. Lock is described as hard working and passionate about the practice of medicine. His colleagues consider him to be very energetic and industrious with regard to patient care. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Lock was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates for 7 years. Dr. Lock has been practicing medicine for 14 years. He holds board certifications in critical care, pulmonary disease, and internal medicine. Dr. Lock specializes in cough and airways diseases including asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis. Steven E. Harris, M.D., FCCP, earned his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, La. He completed his residency at George Washington University. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Harris was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Dr. Harris has been practicing medicine for 24 years. He is the Director of the Asthma and Allergy program at Piedmont Physicians Georgia Lung and holds board certifications in pulmonary disease and internal medicine. Dr. Harris also specializes in Allergy and Asthma for pulmonary patients. In his spare time, Dr. Harris enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. Stuart Simon, M.D., FCCP, earned his medical degree from Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Ga. He completed his residency and internship in internal medicine at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, where he was chief medical resident. He completed his fellowship in pulmonology and critical care medicine at Yale University.

Dr. Simon received his undergraduate degrees in biology and sociology from Tulane University. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Georgia Lung, Dr. Simon was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates. Dr. Simon has been practicing medicine for 24 years. He holds board certifications in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine.

Dr. Simon specializes in emphysema, lung cancer, pulmonary rehabilitation and respiratory exercise physiology and rehabilitation. In his spare time, Dr. Simon enjoys biking and exercising. Dr. Simon welcomes new patients and accepts most insurance plans.

Coy Lassiter, M.D., graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Georgia. He earned his medical degree from Mercer School of Medicine in Macon, Ga. He completed his residency in internal medicine, as well as his pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. He served as chief resident of internal medicine at Emory University Hospital from 2003 to 2004. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Lassiter was in practice with Georgia Lung Associates and has been practicing medicine for 13 years. He holds board certifications in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine and has training in advanced bronchoscopy. He prides himself on being a well-rounded physician and maintains special interests in interventional bronchoscopy, lung cancer and pulmonary thromboembolism. Dr. Lassiter is considered to be warm and friendly and his fellow physicians describe him as having a great vision and leadership for the practice of medicine. Sriram I. Paramesh, M.D., earned his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. He completed his residency at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Paramesh has been practicing medicine for 14 years. He holds board certifications in critical care medicine, pulmonary disease and internal medicine.
