Todd Allen Schmidt, MD

Dr. Schmidt is active in community athletic events, having served as a physician for the USA Olympic Sports Medicine Association and the Special Olympics. He also has served as the Medical Director for the LPGA, Chick-fil-A Charity Golf Championship and both the Peach Bowl and Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in multiple years. Dr. Schmidt also served as an associate team physician for the Atlanta Falcons. In addition, he continues his relationship as team physician for Union Grove High School and Strong Rock Christian School. Dr. Schmidt is a past Chief of Medical Staff at Piedmont Henry Hospital. He is on the board of the Georgia Orthopedic Society, and is a past president. He is also on the Board of Counselors of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and serves on the governing board of Piedmont Henry Hospital.

Areas of interest include sports orthopedics, diabetic foot, pediatric general orthopedics, fracture care, and workers’ compensation. Dr. Rodriguez-del Rio is fluent in Spanish and welcomes Spanish-speaking patients.
Dr. Rodríguez-del Río has taken an active role in the community. Dr. Rodriguez-del Rio served as Foot and Ankle Consultant for the Puerto Rico Volleyball Olympic Team. During his tenure as President of the Orthopaedic State Society, he organized public service clinics in Puerto Rico for the underserved communities and contributed to public service weekly radio programs to orient and assist underserved and aging communities. He continues to take an active role in the medical community, serving as a medical consultant for ACUMED International Corporation.

Richard Joseph Bowles, MD

Dr. Bowles graduated with honors from the University of Louisville and continued his education at the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, Kentucky, after a career in engineering and business. After completing a general surgery internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital) in Boston, Dr. Bowles completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Colorado in Denver. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. He is a team physician for the US Ski & Snowboard Team.

Dr. Ghattas is currently the team physician for Clayton State University and for Eagles Landing, OLA and Woodland High Schools in Georgia. Dr. Ghattas has served as an assistant team physician for the Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and has provided team coverage assistance to Wichita Thunder Minor League Hockey, Wichita Wild Indoor Football and Wichita State University Athletics teams. Dr. Ghattas served as a sideline physician during the 2015 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game, and was the physician for the Final Four in Atlanta, Georgia in 2013. In 2003, Dr. Ghattas participated in a medical mission trip in Belize, seeing patients via mobile health clinics.
Dr. Ghattas has made numerous presentations to area college and high school students and coaching staff on topics including Anatomy and Related Orthopaedic Injuries, Shoulder and Sports-related Orthopaedic Injuries, Upper Extremity Sports Injuries and the like. Publications Results of Subpectoral Biceps Tenodesis for the Treatment of Type II and IV SLAP Lesions, 2014, accepted for publication in the American Journal of Sports Medicine, and presented at AANA Annual Meeting and AOA and AOSSM. The Effects of Initial Post-Operative X-Rays on Treatment Plans and Costs, 2011, accepted for publication by the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery in 2013, and presented at several medical society meetings. Primitive Neuroectodermal Tumor of the Chest Wall in a Neonate: A Case Report, 2010, accepted for publication by the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery in 2013.
