Dr. Matthew was born and raised in Atlanta. She received her undergraduate degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from University of Colorado where she graduated Summa cum Laude. She attended Rush Medical College in Chicago, and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Loyola University Medical Center, also in the Chicago area.
At Loyola, Dr. Matthew served as Administrative Chief Resident and was a three-time recipient of the Excellence in Teaching Award. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society.
Dr. Matthew is married to another native-Atlantan. In fact, she and her husband were both born at Piedmont Hospital! In her time off she loves to travel and has spent time volunteering in a clinic in India. Her favorite hobby is horseback riding.

Dr. Matthew is the best she always makes me feel extremely comfortable in a setting that has always caused me stress. I highly recommend her and hope she gets all the recognition possible. Her bedside manner cannot be beat!!

She was amazing, she explained things in an understandable way and made sure I was aware of what all was happening! She was welcoming and also sympathetic towards my condition! She made me feel comfortable and heard while in her care!
