John Hwang, MD

John Hwang, MD is a board-certified general surgeon with the American Board of Surgery. He has been in practice since 2017 performing minimally invasive/robotic general and weight loss surgery. He treats all types of abdominal wall hernias, gastrointestinal tract disorders, and gallbladder diseases. His practice philosophy emphasizes focusing on the entire patient, addressing their overall health rather than solely concentrating on the surgical problem. For his weight loss patients, he employs a multi-disciplinary approach which includes working with dieticians, psychologists, and exercise physiologists.
In his spare time, Dr. Hwang is an avid runner having completed three marathons and looking to run his next. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and his son.
