Dr. Mathew M. John is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon who has provided advanced podiatric care to patients throughout Metro Atlanta for more than 25 years. Recognized for his surgical expertise, compassionate approach, and commitment to medical excellence, Dr. John cares for patients with everything from routine foot pain to the most complex reconstructive foot and ankle conditions.

Originally from the Chicago area, Dr. John earned his undergraduate degree from Augusta University before receiving his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed an extensive three-year surgical residency in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C. region, where he trained at the National Naval Medical Center. During his residency, he treated active-duty military personnel and members of Congress while receiving advanced training in reconstructive foot surgery, trauma, diabetic limb salvage, and complex foot and ankle reconstruction. He was selected to serve as Chief Resident during his final year.

Dr. John is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and has authored peer-reviewed medical publications.

Throughout his career, Dr. John has established himself as a respected leader in the Atlanta podiatric community. He serves as Medical Director of the Atlanta Center for Foot & Ankle Surgery, helps train podiatric surgical residents throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area, and has lectured extensively on the latest advances in foot and ankle care. His passion for education extends to physicians, healthcare professionals, and the community through numerous educational presentations on both conservative and surgical treatment options.

Dr. John has extensive experience caring for athletes of all ages and has served as a team physician for the Georgia Middle School Athletic Association while consulting with athletic programs throughout Cobb and Cherokee counties. His commitment to evidence-based medicine allows him to provide patients with the most current treatment options, including minimally invasive techniques, regenerative therapies, advanced wound care, reconstructive surgery, and comprehensive diabetic foot care.

Now serving patients at Ankle & Foot Centers in Marietta, Dr. John is also on staff with Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center as well as Northside Hospital Atlanta and Piedmont Hospital Atlanta. He is known for taking the time to listen carefully to each patient's concerns, thoroughly explain treatment options, and develop personalized care plans that help patients return to the activities they enjoy.
