Michael Adam Bergen, MD in Atlanta, GA

Dr. Michael Bergen earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology, with a minor in Computer Science, summa cum laude, from Emory University before receiving his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Brown University in Rhode Island, where he served as Chief Resident. He subsequently completed an Orthopedic Trauma Fellowship at Brown University, where he received the Fellow Teaching Award, followed by a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute.

Dr. Bergen has served as an assistant team physician for the Los Angeles Chargers of the NFL, as well as for Brown University Athletics and several Southern California high school and collegiate football programs.

In addition to his medical training, Dr. Bergen has a background in computer science and software development, including the independent development and publication of mobile applications. This background has contributed to a particular interest in the thoughtful application of technology in orthopedic surgery, including three-dimensional preoperative planning, computer-assisted navigation, and patient-specific instrumentation.
