Mridula Vinjamuri, M.D. comes to Piedmont Oncology with over 21 years of clinical experience. She completed her fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV. Her Internal Medicine residency was at Michigan State university, Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan and her Surgical Internship was at Cornell University /North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. Dr. Vinjamuri holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) from A. P. State University of Health Sciences at Guntur Medical College.
Dr. Vinjamuri has received numerous recognitions, honors and awards in academics, research and clinical care over her career. Among distinctions is her listing by Consumers Research Council of America in 'America's Top physicians,'as well as notable grant awarded by the Health Care Foundation of New Jersey recognizing her excellence in research. She served as Medical Director of Oncology, reviewer at IRB. She has given multiple case presentations in medical conferences across the United States and is an accomplished author of dozens of abstracts and publications, including topics on PET scans in small cell lung cancer and chemotherapy of brain tumors. Dr. Vinjamuri lives in Acworth, Georgia with her husband and two children. During her leisure time she enjoys yoga, meditation, writing poetry and bird watching.
Dr. Vinjamuri believes in treating each patient's unique psychosocial, emotional, nutritional, occupational, spiritual and existential needs in order to truly facilitate the most personalized comprehensive treatment added to the latest cutting edge cancer treatments. Empowering patients with knowledge about staging, treatment options and side effects, while also extending support to their families with regard to emotional and financial issues. Every time a patient comes, the most important thing is to hold their hand and letting them know that they are not alone all through the journey and treat them with compassion, dignity and respect.

Dr. Vinjamuri is a very experienced practioner and always reviews the details of all the tests and lab work in her explanations and recommendations. She takes time to answer all questions that her patients have.

We like Dr. V. alot! She is on top of dennis' colon cancer, understands his challenges and addresses every concern and issue. Extremely knowledgeable. We trust her judgment and recommendations. She is a solid and competent medical oncologist!

I like her alot. Very nice, and listens to you. I usually see her in the Kennesaw office but this time I saw her in the Canton office. The Canton office smells like it was once a vets office. It is more convenient but not as nice or professional feeling as the Kennesaw office.
