Sasha Wahab, MD, MA is a board-certified radiation oncologist who has been practicing in Atlanta since 2008. He earned his medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, where he also attained a master's degree as part of the Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellowship. He stayed on for residency training at Washington University, one of the busiest and most respected radiation oncology programs in the country. He completed his undergraduate training at the University of Virginia, where he was awarded the honor of being an Echols Scholar.
Dr. Wahab serves as Chief Clinical Officer for Radiation Oncology Services, one the largest radiation oncology practices in the metropolitan Atlanta area. Dr. Wahab helps lead a team of 10 radiation oncologists serving eight centers throughout the city. He has had a long affiliation with Piedmont Healthcare and is a core member of the Piedmont Radiation Oncology Steering Committee. He has previously served as Medical Director for the Southern Crescent Radiation Oncology Center and Cancer Committee Chair for the Southern Regional Medical Center. He has been an active participant and presenter in hundreds of multidisciplinary and specialty tumor conferences throughout his tenure in Atlanta.
Dr. Wahab has accumulated vast experience in an array of advanced radiation oncology technologies including IMRT, IGRT, stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR/SBRT) and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. He also has extensive experience in brachytherapy, including the treatment of breast and gynecologic malignancies with high-dose-rate Iridium-192. He started his career investigating the capacity of advanced imaging techniques to improve treatment delivery and has presented his research both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Wahab has published in multiple peer reviewed oncology journals. "I love being part of a large group with a well-deserved reputation. Dr. Wahab enjoys spending time outside with his wife, Vanessa, and two lovely daughters, Castalia and Ophelia. He likes to host movie nights with friends and listening to music at home.
