After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Engineering Chemistry at SUNY at Stony Brook in NY, Dr. Thaker attended William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Following graduation, Dr. Thaker accepted a surgical residency position in Illinois. He returned to New York in 1986, joined a private practice, and began treating podiatric patients in midtown Manhattan. While in private practice, Dr. Thaker also served on the medical staff at numerous NYC hospitals. After 20 years of practicing in New York, Dr. Thaker and his family moved to the Atlanta area for the first time in 2006. While in Atlanta, he served on staff at Gwinnett Medical Center and obtained the highest level of surgical privileges available to a podiatric surgeon. After spending several more years practicing in NYC, Dr. Thaker decided to relocate to Georgia permanently in 2020. His daughter is a graduate of Georgia Tech and his son is currently attending medical school.
