Dr. Parikh is a very kind, professional and personable physician. Her demeanor is calm, sincere and friendly. She reviews with her patients your past and present medical information, and recommends and discusses any changes to promote a positive future outcome. She has been my physician for more than 4 years, and I credit her with saving my life. Two years ago, when I was not feeling well and I reached out to her on MyChart and she responded in less than 30 min. When she told me to go to Piedmont Heart, I was resistent and she took a firm stand and let me know that she was not suggesting, she was ordering me to go to the ER. She knew what I didn't know, that I my heart was failing! When my daughter and I arrived, the ER nurses were aware of my arrival and got me into a wheelchair and rushed me into an ER bed. The ER physician rushed in and informed me that they were going to take very good care of me and that I would be getting a pacemaker! I passed out!!! I awakened around 3 o'clock in the morning, still in the ER and was told that my blood results were too abnormal for me to go under anesthesia and they were admitting me to CCU to normalize my levels so that I could undergo surgery for a pacemaker. Three days later on May 13th I received my pacemaker. This was a shock to me and my family on many levels. 1) The women in my family die young from cancer. 2) I'd had mild and controlled hypertension with 1 pill for 15 years. I'd had a very active lifestyle during and after getting three children through college as a single mother. AND the big one...I am a retired registered nurse! I never saw cardiac issues in my future. BUT, I had Dr. Parikh in my future who saved my life! I am eternally grateful to Dr. Parikh for saving my life. As well as the wisdom of Piedmont Healthcare to have her as a member of your remarkable team of physicians. As a daughter of a physician, I sense and know physicians in 3 catagories, good, better and best. Piedmont has the best! Thank you!
