Russell Austin Flint, MD

Dr. Flint earned his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. He completed internships in internal medicine and general surgery, and a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Emory University affiliated hospitals in Atlanta. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and is active in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians, Dr. Flint practiced for 18 years at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine, North Carolina, where he was chief of surgery for 15 years and the medical director of physical therapy. Dr. Flint is a native of Cherokee County. He graduated valedictorian from Cherokee High School and Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University with highest honors.When not working he enjoys woodworking, music and outdoor sports. Dr. Flint is accepting new patients and welcomes most major insurance plans.
